Nicole was running away from people that hurt her. She found out that her fiancé was cheating on her with her twin sister and even got Veronica pregnant.

All her life she strived to show people that she is worthy to be loved by taking care of everyone around her. But she never felt it. She always thought that her twin was better than her, so she worked twice as hard so people would notice her. And on her wedding day when her whole world collapsed, she had enough so she ran away.

Ethan was going through the motions, just existing for his daughter after they lost his wife. He thought that he only needed his daughter and his family. Never thinking that he would feel something for someone again.

The feeling of being wanted; wanting to feel again. That was what Nic and Ethan felt when they got together. Two broken souls fated to cross paths. There was a spark when they first met. Both of them tried to fight it but the intensity of what their feeling won. Nicole was willing to give in to a night of passion but Ethan wanted more of her.

What they didn’t know was they would see each other again, but in a whole different setting.

A lot of feels with this one, as with every Lexi Ryan book. This really resonated with me, because of one of the most important topics talked about in it. Depression. It’s a bitch that you just can’t kick. BUT, if you or your loved ones are going through it, FIGHT it together. Be strong when the other can’t. Just be willing to help and to listen. Don’t force them to be better, but instead be a source of their courage to be brave and wither the storm.
